Starting from October 1, 2023, the guaranteed minimum gross monthly salary in Romania will be increased to 3,300 lei, excluding allowances, bonuses, and other additions, up from the current level of 3,000 lei.

With this raise, the minimum net base salary will be 2,079 lei, compared to the previous 1,898 lei.

The hourly rate for a normal working schedule, estimated at an average of 165.333 hours per month, has been adjusted to 19.960 lei per hour.

It is important to note that this increase will not apply to employees in the agriculture and food industry sectors. The current legal provisions will be applicable for these categories of workers.

Employers are obligated to increase the minimum gross salaries through addendums to the employment contracts and register them in the REVISAL within 20 business days, starting from October 1, 2023.
